Increasing Your Energy

Have you ever felt sluggish in the morning, extra tired in the afternoon, and downright depressed at night? Though it could be you’ve contracted a case of the Mondays, more likely is that your nutrition is out of whack. Whenever an advertisement for nutritional supplements appears on the television, radio, or internet, you often hear “you need to receive your daily dose of vitamins to be healthy”. Sadly, because these advertisements are trying to sell a product, their approach is to guilt you into this apparent “healthiness” that can only be achieved through their product. What they should do is tell you why you would want a nutritional supplement at all.

Drinking eight glasses of water per day, eating lots of grains, cutting red meat and saturated fat; it all sounds fine, but what does it do? It gives you more energy. As in, when you wake up in the morning, even if you’ve only gotten a few hours of sleep, you’ll feel more refreshed and will improve your memory. Getting all those essential vitamins will help you to avoid falling asleep in the afternoon.  Drinking lots of water will increase your metabolism (though you do have to use the bathroom more) but this will allow your body to burn more calories.  All in all, nutritional supplements lead to a life where you feel better, and that’s the reason to take them. Looking into an acai berry diet is another idea to promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Antioxidants

So just what is an antioxidant anyway? Antioxidants, true to their name, prevent the natural occurrence of oxidized molecules in our bodies. By putting themselves at the forefront of oxidation activities, antioxidants replace other molecules in the oxidation process. Since oxidation often generates free radicals that damage other cells, antioxidants are important in the prevention of free radical generation and their subsequent cell damage.

The acai berry has taken center stage among antioxidants. With a unique flavor this popular food additive has become a staple in diets across the country. Whether it’s a weight-loss diet or just an everyday lifestyle change, acai has taken the world by storm. Boasting effective antioxidant properties this new superfood can be found in juices, yogurts and prepared meals. By preventing the creation of free radicals acai is now credited with being an effective cancer-fighting supplement.

Natural Aids for Digestive Health

Antacids are not the long-term answer for digestive woes-they cover up symptoms. It is essential to determine whether the root cause of digestive problems is food sensitivity, acid overproduction, or another problem. The first plan of action to combat digestive problems is to try eating less, eating earlier in the day, and eliminating foods that cause negative reactions for you.  Including adequate fiber in your diet is the easiest way to improve your digestion, assisting your body in eliminating toxins and reducing your risk of high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, and colon cancer.  A diet rich with beans, grains, and vegetables is a good way to begin. Many people have also recently turned to the acai berry diet, which is also touted for regulating digestion.

Digestive health supplements contain herbs known as cholagogues, which increase the flow of bile by assisting with liver and gallbladder function for more efficient processing of fats. Cholagogues boost saliva, digestive juices, and enzyme secretions to allow the body to take care of itself rather than simply reducing stomach acid temporarily as an antacid does.

Acai Berry Finds Its Groove

Now that the hyperbolic publicizing of the acai berry has died down, people are beginning to take a more realistic, objective look at this tiny fruit. Originally touted as a miracle cure-all for diabetes and myriad other chronic illnesses, scientific research has debunked these false claims. Now acai is classified where it belongs: amongst other antioxidant-rich foods, such as the blueberry.

Originally, the acai berry was marketed purely as a dietary supplement, but it is beginning to recognize wider culinary usage. Just the other day I was at the store and saw a new flavor of juice from a nationwide company: Cran-Acai. In the near future, don’t be surprised to find other acai-flavored goods in your local supermarket. I’m predicting yogurt and sorbet will be some of the first.

Everyone wants easy ways to rekindle the energy that they used to experience when they were kids. But as people age, they often find that the abundant energy that they used to experience quickly fades and diminishes. Suddenly, small tasks become difficult, because you simply don’t have the stamina to finish that walk or climb that hill. But with the right elements added to your diet and the right amount of daily exercise, you can recapture some of that always important energy.

To that end, some of the most delicious and readily available natural energy boosters are yogurt, fresh berries and other fruit, orange juice, grapefruits, and similar foods. All of these are absolutely packed with vitamins and minerals, and these are the building blocks that your body needs to increase your energy. If you don’t think you will be able to incorporate adequate amounts of these foods into your diet, consider taking a natural supplement like acai capsules. Once you feel that you have this natural flow of energy restored, you can start building your stamina and endurance by implementing exercise routines into your life.

What is Freeze-Drying?

As its moniker suggests, freeze-drying is a process of dehydrates perishable products for transportation while they are frozen. In addition to aiding in the shipping of goods, freeze-drying also can help preserve natural nutrients in fruits and vegetables, which typically begin to diminish as soon as they are picked from the vine. While it may sound complicated, the freeze-drying process is actually quite simple.

First, the material—whether it’s freeze dried acai berry, mango or turnips—is frozen. Next, the pressure is reduced and heat is added to the material. This intense heat allows the frozen water in the material to sublime, or, in other words, it goes directly from a solid to a gas.

Açai Berry – The Purple Fruit

Are you ready to invest in your health in 2010?

Did you make a new year’s resolution this year (actually year after year) that you need to eat healthier and exercise more?

If you have been unsuccessful before, it is never too late to start but this year, try to take one step at a time. Sometimes, too much of one thing may prove to be too much to handle. For example, if you drastically reduce consumption of what your body is normally used to, the results may cause more damage than if you were to reduce it at a slower rate.

Recently, a doctor of my friend prescribed a new medication for her high blood pressure. She was also diagnosed with diabetes so she had to watch her glucose intake. The doctor advised her that she must avoid all salt. So what does she do? She avoided all salt and ended up in emergency because her electrolytes were way below normal. On top of that, she had a nervous breakdown immediately after she left the hospital and ended up in a psychiatric ward.

Throw our bodies out of balance; it could cause some serious damage to our bodies and medical health issues.

Nine months ago, I made a choice to have a much healthier diet and commit to a more regular exercise routine. As I was searching for health and well being on the internet, I encounter some new vocabulary, like antioxidants, phyto-chemicals, detoxification, phyto-nutrients, saturated and unsaturated fats or free radicals. Then I read about foods to avoid, like alcohol, caffeine, meat and meat products, sugar, salt, fatty and processed foods.

Have you heard about eating a rainbow diet which includes a variety of fruits and vegetables that are good for you? If I were to live a healthier lifestyle, I needed to re-adjust my food intake.

I came across the Açai berry fruit (the purple fruit) that has the highest antioxidant properties and helps fight against free radicals and toxins that surround us daily and come from food we ingest into our bodies. This fruit has at least twice the amount of antioxidants than blueberries. It is also high in fibre, amino acids, and omega fats. By taking the Açai berry supplements, those vital components to your diet will be taken care of.

The Açai berry is a staple food in the Brazilian natives’ daily diets.

Due to the fragility of the fruit once harvested and in order to keep the maximum nutrients, the Açai berry must be made into either a freeze-dried powder, frozen or dilute with other juices and preservatives.

The Açai berry capsule with the freeze-dried powder is the easiest and most economical way to consume this super fruit.

Add Açai Berry To Your Healthy Eating

Happy New Year!

The holidays are always great reasons to get together with families and friends. With laughter and joy of reunions and the reason for the holidays, scrumptious feast follows right behind. Turkey dinners, with cranberry sauce, potatoes, yams, brussels sprouts, cheesecakes, puddings, ice cream, and lots of happy alcoholic beverages.

During the holidays, were you being active and eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables?

If you were like me, my being active was raising the glass, seesawing my dinner with my knife, and major walking activity in the malls. After all, I had to use those elbows to fend off my lutes.

Being active is vitally important in our daily routine. It keeps our body moving, joints flexible, and mind active.

Eating healthy with less saturated fat is also vitally essential in keeping nutrient rich balance in our bodies.

Research suggests that up to 35 percent of cancers are related to poor diet. By modifying what you eat and being active, you can reduce your risk of cancer and other health problems

High fiber diets are clearly beneficial. Foods with high phytonutrients, like those found in plant foods, help fight diseases.

The Açai berry, found only in the Amazon jungle, is high in fiber, omega fats, and exceptionally high in antioxidant properties. These berries deteriorate within 24 hours of being harvested. Therefore bringing them outside of the country is impossible. It is found that the Açai berry skin has the high nutrient values in fiber, omega fats and antioxidant properties and these can be preserved when freeze-dried. They could then packaged in freeze dried capsules and be available around the globe.

So keep up with your daily recommended nutrient intake and try some freeze dried Açai berry supplements.
