Will the Acai Berry be FDA Approved?
You’ve probably read the claims and examined the studies that show the acai berry is a super fruit with many health benefits; yet, you are hesitant to try the fruit. Why is that? For some people, the reason is the fruit is not approved by the FDA. What they fail to realize is the FDA is unlikely to pass any sort of judgment on the fruit itself.
The FDA has not officially approved or disproved the acai berry or acai berry research simply because the fruit is the produce item of another country. The berry requires rainforest conditions to grow into a super fruit. Since the acai berry is unlikely to ever be sold in the U.S. as a produce item, the FDA has little incentive to spend money researching and approving the berry. Specific acai juice bottling plants inside the U.S. may or may not have FDA approval, but this has less to do with the fruit itself and more to do with conditions at the factory.
