Chances are if you have a Facebook account, then you’ve encountered a scam or two. Be wary of a new resurgence of an old scam, the “” scam. Like many Facebook scams, you may notice it as a link on your wall from a friend, usually accompanied by a testimonial message.

If you click on the link it will take you to a page where a rogue application will start loading a video. Attempts to exit the window will be met with a message that leaving will corrupt the Flash install. Eventually you’ll be led to a page advertising a miracle acai berry diet. This acai berry trial scam page will be peppered with links that supposedly take you to sites that sell the miracle fruit, but in reality they’re just another way for scammers to steal your money

Recognizing an Internet Scam

When it comes to identifying internet scams, the way to do it is to fight fire with fire.  In other words, use the internet as a tool to identify which internet business solutions are scams and which are legitimate.  The easiest way to identify whether a service is a scam or is legitimate is to search for it on a search engine.  Most of the time, scams come up in the first searches with other people who have fallen for the scam voicing their opinion. This is how the word originally got out on the acai berry free trial scam, and it’s the best tool to use before recognizing whether to invest in a business opportunity or not. While it’s often said that learning from one’s own mistakes is important, when it comes to scams, learning from the mistakes of others is much easier. Make sure to see third party research on any service before you make an investment.

In addition to research, some services might not be well documented, but could still be potential scams. While services often try to make time seem like a factor, don’t rush into a purchase that doesn’t feel comfortable on all levels. If a scam is new, it will take some time before documentation arises.

Fruit for Loot: The Acai Berry Scam

As is the case with most successful Internet scams, the acai berry boondoggle had a ring of truth. The berry, which is native to South America, does contain beneficial antioxidants with some healthy properties. Unfortunately, opportunists saw their chance to imbue the acai berry with miraculous traits that it just doesn’t possess. They began marketing the berries as weight loss supplements.

Luckily news of the acai berry trial scam is now so widespread that people are actively trying to avoid being swindled. Bear in mind that acai berry supplements are widely available in health food stores and pharmacies – small, unknown Internet startups do not have any special access to a “different” sort of extra-potent acai. Never give out your credit number to a company unless you are absolutely sure of its credibility.

Açai Berry Scams – Gotchya

Have you fallen prey to deceitful and insidious scam artists, promising considerable weight loss by taking their Açai Berry products and deceptive appearance of endorsement for their products from celebrities?

free_trial_offerIt’s like fishing. There is a bait (the free trial scams offer). Then the hook (the credit card information to pay for the small shipping cost). Once the credit card goes through, you are hooked. The auto-shipping of their products at exuberant amount will be charged to your credit card. You tried to wiggle and fight and scream and display your displeasure, like a fish trying to unhook itself from its catcher, but to avail because your credit card has already gone through. Payment to the conniving scam artists has already been made. If you are not checking your credit card transactions and statements regularly and allowing the transactions to happen over a period of time, you are out of a lot of dough.

Giving your money to a reputable charity or medical research like cancer research is a worthwhile cause. Being scammed is not worthwhile nor fun and totally frustrating when you tried to discontinue the auto-ship. It’s like being robbed or being taken advantage of. This is serious stuff.

Açai berry is an amazing fruit and there are legitimate businesses that do not have auto-ship. They also offer great Açai berry products. Do your research.

If you still decide to give the free trial a try, read the small fine prints and watch your credits. Be warned.

acai-berry-extreme-dietScam artists traffic in the naïveté of today’s gullible consumers. Unfortunately, it’s hard to know who to trust when you’re dealing with promises and guarantees online. Recently, a group of bogus companies have used the considerable health benefits of the açai berry as a way to rope in even more unsuspecting dupes. These companies operate under the pretense of offering free trials of açai while promising unrealistic weight-loss benefits.

You’ve probably heard the old saying that, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” As such, you should do your homework about the açai berry and its true health implications. In the end, you’ll find that the fruit contains vital antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids that improve the body and mind. Get all the information you can; that way you won’t fall for an açai berry free trial scam.
